Counted among the three most beautiful scenic spots of Japan, Matsushima has been referred to in old poems, and many prominent figures have paid it a visit. The view of the two hundred and sixty large and small islands, with green pine trees, scattered across the blue sea, is breathtaking. The changing scenery of the seasons reminds visitors of a miniature garden. Fresh oysters are a popular winter delicacy.

Over 100 dome-shaped snow huts line the snow-covered town of Yokote. The faint glow that escapes from the Kamakura conveys a sense of warmth. Children gathered inside call out and invite passersby in. Walking into the Kamakura, visitors will find themselves embarking on a pleasant conversation with the children.

In below zero temperatures, snow and ice create countless huge icy structures on the snowfields—the Ice Monsters. When the snow-covered mountain is lit up in the colors of the rainbow, an unearthly view unravels. During the harsh winter months, the mountain acquires a divine beauty seemingly unapproachable by humans.
