Counted among the three most beautiful scenic spots of
Japan, Matsushima has been referred to in old poems, and
many prominent figures have paid it a visit. The view
of the two hundred and sixty large and small islands,
with green pine trees, scattered across the blue sea,
is breathtaking. The changing scenery of the seasons reminds
visitors of a miniature garden. Fresh oysters are a popular
winter delicacy. |

In Sendai, known as the "City of Trees," one
million light bulbs light up the 298 Japanese elm trees
lining the street, the city's symbol. Anyone walking
below the lighted arches extending into the distance
will feel a sense of pleasure and excitement. The illumination
is sure to warm the viewers' hearts, no matter how cold
the winter night is.
