The BANDAI PLATEAU was created by a large eruption that occurred at MT.BANDAI in 1888. Hundreds of lakes in the vicinity, including LAKE HIBARA, were also created at this time. There are numerous hiking trails in the area, making it a popular place for trekkers. From the BANDAI AZUMA SKYLINE, you can enjoy views of autumn foliage at LAKE HIBARA, GOSHIKINUMA MARSHES and the nearby SHIRABU HOT SPRINGS.
