HACHIMANTAI, a plateau with an “aspite”
type volcano, extends across the IWATE PREF.
and AKITA PREF. It is a treasure trove of
natural beauty with its large forests and
marshy areas still untouched by man. You
can see beautiful autumn leaves by driving
a car from the ASPITE LINE and the JUKAI
LINE. Also, visitors are treated to a panoramic
view of 360 degrees from the peak of HACHIMANTAI
at an altitude of 1,614m. Moreover, the
HACHIMANNUMA MARSH with a circumference
of 1.5km, is popular as a trekking course.
