MORIOKA SANSA ODORI (Morioka-city)

At the MORIOKA SANSA ODORI FESTIVAL, the
rhythms of flutes and drums resound in the
twilight hours and about 30,000 people take
part in the dance procession that takes
place every year for three days from August
1. Visitors can enjoy such events as seeing
Miss SANSA at the drum parade or dancers
at the ring dance.

Mataichi-no Taki Falls (Tono-city)
|

Mataichi-no Taki Falls is located in Mt.Yakushi
in front of Mt.Hayachine.
Its mysterious panorama looks like a place
where an angel bathes herself in water.
And people say that this waterfall is the
place to heal the psyche. The falls are
dedicated to Princess Seoritsu.

Koromo-no Taki Falls (Koromogawa-village)
|
|
Koromo-no Taki Falls is located in upper
reaches of Kitamata River which is a tributary
of Koromogawa River.
Both the heigth and width of this waterfall
is 15 meters.
The panorama of spraying water and the splendor
of the scenery around is so beautiful.
There is a famous cave near the basin called
“Aithubo” where the “Jikaku Taishi”(high
priest) hung up his robe to dry.

Fudo no Taki Falls (Ashiro-town)
|
|
Great “Fudo no Taki” Falls formed by 3 stages
is not only selected as one of “the best
100 waterfalls in Japan” but acknowledged
as “the 20 most beautiful waters in Iwate”.
The panoramick scene of water rushing strait
to the bottom forming beautiful white cascades
is a sight to see.
A statue of the spirit God “Fudomyohoh”
is placed in the middle reaches of the falls.
