SENDAI TANABATA MATSURI (Sendai-city)

Every year from August 6 to 8, the main
streets of SENDAI CITY are decorated with
many bamboo poles decorated with colorful
paper crafts. During the TANABATA eve Fireworks
Display, about 12,000 fireworks are set
off to the summer sky.

Sankai Taki Falls. Fudo Taki Falls (Zao-town
)

These two waterfalls are in Sumikawa.
The fresh green leaves in spring and red
leaves here in autumn are very beautiful.
Japanese macaques inhabits the forest here.
Sankai Taki Falls is formed by three stages,
located at altitudes between 700 and 572
meters above sea level and the water flow
from Ishiko Sawa(glen) , east side of Ato-eboshi
to the Sumikawa River.
The head drop of this waterfall is 181 meters.
This waterfall is selected as one of “the
best 100 waterfalls in Japan”.
The head drop of Fudo Taki Falls is 53.5
meters.

Akiu Ohtaki Falls (Taihaku-ward Sendai-city
)
|
|
Akiu Ohtaki Falls is really wonderful, as
the water runs down without a break from
Natori River.
The head drop of this falls is 55 meters
and 6 meters wide.
The fogbelt climbs with a roar transporting
nearby visitors into a fantasy world.
These falls are selected as one of “the
three great water falls of Japan” along
with “Nachi” and “Kegon”.It is selected
as one of “the best 100 waterfalls in Japan”
and designated as a scenic spot of the country.
When we look up at the falls, as the falls
turn its droplet into mist, we can feel
the force getting stronger.

Gyoja Taki Falls (Kurikoma-town)

The head drop of this waterfall is 30 meters.
Gyoja Taki Falls conceals a wild masculine
attraction and never dries up throughout
the year.
