Boasting a history of a thousand years, the SOMA NOMAOI FESTIVAL is held on a grand scale in cities, towns and villages from July 23 to July 25 every year. People dressed as warriors going to war and processions of warriors riding on horseback call to mind the "AGE OF CIVIL WARS".

Since the SOMA NOMAOI FESTIVAL is the biggest event of the area that was the territory of the former SOMA-HAN. Since the venue for each event covers a wide area, it is difficult to see them all, so visitors should decide on what they want to see the most.
The events of the second day with the mounted warrior parade, mounted warrior horse race and banner contest are the highlights of the festival.
