At the YAMAGATA HANAGASA MATSURI FESTIVAL, in addition to the dancers who are the stars of the parade, musical bands and DASHI floats also participate. Spectators can have fun evaluating the performance of the dancers and how well the DASHI floats are made.
Every year, each group starts marching in the parade at intervals of about 10 minutes so that spectators need not become bored.
If you feel dissatisfied with only viewing the dancers, you can join in as an impromptu dancer at one of the designated spots.
