Famous spots to enjoy mountain climbing and soaking in the hot spring

MT. KURIKOMA is a dormant conical volcano stretching across MIYAGI PREF., IWATE PREF., and AKITA PREF., at an altitude of 1,627.7m. It is rich in nature, with a primeval beech forest, marshes, and ravines. MT. GASSAN, MT. CHOKAI, the ZAO MOUNTAIN RANGE, and MT. KOMAGADAKE can be seen from its summit and about 150 kinds of alpine plants grow here. Beautiful views of autumn leaves can be seen from the foot of the mountain, but the view from the mountain trails is even more breathtaking.
